Recruiting Process

Bringing a new Centron on-board is a team effort and decision—we want to make sure you fit the team and the team fits you.

  • Recruitment emblem

We want to get to know Y-O-U. Yes, you! So, update that resume and apply to the open role on our job board.

  • Recruitment emblem

    Review

We know how much work and thought goes into looking good on paper, so we take our time to read-through, absorb, and review every application.

  • Recruitment emblem

    Chat

If we find your qualifications are in line with what we’re looking for, a phone screening is held to discuss the role, answer initial questions and get a feel for your experience.

  • Recruitment emblem

    Interview

Whether it’s a preliminary chat or a larger final interview, you’ll interview with potential colleagues (and dare we say, future friends) and your hiring manager.

Recruiting FAQs

Can't wait to see what’s next? Here are some frequently asked questions about our recruiting process.
  • What can I expect throughout the interview process?

Most interviews follow the standard process shown above: a recruiter phone call, hiring manager interview, and a team interview. Based on the role or department, there may be additional steps such as a skill-based assessment, coding exercise, or a presentation, so expect for your recruiter to give you a detailed preview of what the interview process looks like for the role you are being considered for. All Centrons are currently working remotely, so you can expect all aspects of your interview process to be virtual through Microsoft Teams. The goal in all our interviews is to get to know you and allow you to get to know Centro! No riddles, trick questions, or unnecessary stress!

  • How long does it take to hear back about next steps after I apply to a role?

Part of Centro’s people philosophy is to “hire slow.” We want to find the best fit for our teams – and for you – the incredible candidate. We’d love to give you a specific timeline, but the truth is, we can’t. But we can promise that no matter what, you will hear back from us with a decision regarding your application. We know that waiting is hard, so thank you in advance for your patience.

  • What if I want to be considered for more than one position at the same time?

You can apply to multiple positions at the same time. Our applicant system allows us to track your progress in all applications.

  • What if I don’t see an open role that fits my skillset?

Check out the “Upcoming Opportunities” section on our job site. If you see a role there that might be a future fit, please apply. If nothing catches your eye, please continue to check back on our careers site as we post new roles frequently!

  • How do the demographic questions on the application and diversity survey affect my application status?

It absolutely doesn’t. Any demographic questions are completely voluntary and are always kept separate from your application and candidate profile with Centro. We use self-identifying demographic data about our applicants to better inform our diversity and inclusion initiatives, progress, benefits, and perks.

  • How should I prepare for an interview at Centro?

    • Check out our “Life at Centro” page to learn more about our company culture and manifesto
    • Get to know the day-to-day life at Centro through our blog.
    • Take a quick tour of Centro’s product, Basis
    • Your interviewers will ask behavioral questions to learn more about you and your previous experience. We suggest using the STAR method to structure your answers.
    • Check out your interviewers’ LinkedIn pages to learn more about their career path at Centro.
    • Know that we are excited to meet you!

  • What if I need special assistance or require a specific accommodation?

No problem! We’re happy to help with any kind of assistance or accommodations you may need throughout the application or interview process—please contact your recruiter directly to discuss further.

  • How do I indicate what gender pronouns I prefer?

You can let us know your pronouns on the application or during the recruiter screen. We’ll be sure to pass it along to the team. We want to get it right!

  • How long does it take to receive a decision following a team interview?

Our hiring teams do their very best to get back to every candidate who has met with the team within 3-5 business days, however, busy weeks do happen (we are in the AdTech industry after all!). If you don’t hear back from us right away, please don’t hesitate to follow-up with your recruiter!

  • What is your stance on remote work?

Centro is committed to maintaining a culture where we trust our employees to do their best work. We believe results matter more than where they are produced. Currently, we offer our employees choice and flexibility on whether they’d like to work in one of our office locations (once they open back up post-pandemic!), completely remote, or a hybrid of the two. These arrangements vary based on your situation as well as the needs of the team and role. We encourage you to discuss the work location needs around the role you’re interviewing for with the recruiter and hiring manager.
